Technology International is able to offer the following Notified Body Services through our US-based subsidiary, Technology International, Inc.
Technology International, Inc, based in Richmond, Virginia, has been appointed as an EU Notified Body (No. 2863) for the EMC and Radio Equipment Directives under Mutual Recognition Agreements between the US Government and the European Commission.
What is a Notified Body?
A Notified Body is an organisation designated to assess the conformity of products before they are placed on the market in the EU.
The rules governing the involvement of Notified Bodies in the certification process are set by individual EU Directives or Regulations. Some Directives or Regulations require substantial involvement from Notified Bodies for most products, whilst for other Directives the use of a Notified Body remains entirely voluntary.
Notified Body Services From Technology International
Under both the RED and the EMC Directive, Technology International, Inc. can complete EU-Type Examinations (EUTEs) of manufacturers’ Technical documentation. If the examined Documentation is found to provide sufficient evidence of conformity with the applicable Directive, Technology International, Inc. issues an EU-Type Examination Certificate.
EUTEs remain optional under the EMC and RED for nearly every type of product. However, some manufacturers voluntarily choose to submit their Technical Documentation for examination for different reasons; whether it's to provide additional assurance to customers or to meet a contractual requirement.
